Clean heart to do Godly things!

Psalms 51:1-12, Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Psalms are the key to our everyday life. There are Psalms known as penitential Psalms. Psalms 6, 32, 38, 102, 130, 143 and 51. 7 Psalms are known as penitential Psalms.

God anoints David as king. David first thing he wanted to do is bring back the Ark. David who danced before the Ark. David who commits sin with Bathsheba. Murders Uriah.

Nathan the Prophet confronts David almost after a year the whole affair. David writes this Psalm. Everyone who is listening to this message have failed somewhere in your life. May be someone who failed and tied to some kind of sin.

What comes to your mind? I can do better than this. I should do better because I am the child of God. When you look at your yesterday what comes to your mind? When you look at your life last month/year what comes to your mind?

I can do better than this! Immediately you make a promise God I will do better than this but then you fail! You are disappointed with God. You are repentant, remorseful, and broken. God uses them to bring forth righteousness in your life.

2 glaring problems in this Psalms.

• a) Not mention of Bathsheba or Uriah

David never mentions about anything the particular persons at all. As if nothing happened.

• b) David trivialising sin

David mentions that he had sinned against God. V 4, Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. Look at bit deeper. It is not about what David did but who He was.

It is not the action but the person. People try so many things to get rid off problems. Join a 7 step program or 12 step program. Go to a Therapist Got to physic Go to Reiki But nothing will change you because what is inside of you!
